The Homeopathic College was founded in 1989 by Manfred Mueller. Originally named The Southeastern College of Homeopathy, it took its current name around 1991. From 1989 to 1999 it offered a four-year classroom-training curriculum in Hahnemannian homeopathy at its main location in Durham, North Carolina, USA. The program introduced the student to homeopathic materia medica, as well as the theory and practice of homeopathy.
Beginning with the second year, the curriculum focused on a detailed study of the 6th Edition of the Organon. Clinical supervised training was mandatory. Live case taking allowed students to participate and apply their knowledge to real-life patients. In ten years, the program graduated 112 students. Many of them still practice homeopathy.
In 1999, the College discontinued its undergraduate classroom program, however it continued to offer supervised clinical training for homeopathic students in various locations in the Southeastern United States. The College also offered acute homeopathic first aid and self-help training to the general public.
In 2007, the College began to offer post-graduate distance learning tutorials for established homeopathic practitioners and advanced homeopathic students. This post-graduate training program continues to the present time.
